Hi all , I can see there is loads of stuff about this already which has only made my head go round in faster circles !! keeping it brief I hit a bump quite hard ( not unusual in a disco) and the 3 amigos came on along with the brake warning light. I figure it must be down at the wheel ends due to the bump but I know that could be coincidence. My question is can I start to find the problem with a multi meter checking resistance from the abs sensors and if so does anyone know the range ?
Just as a side, since I bought this car I suspect its HG has gone, loosing coolant, did the sniff test which turned yellow. I did arrange to get it done / get some help with it soon after buying it but that help has fallen through, not being able to afford some of the quotes ive had I fancy having a go myself, never done one before so was trying to gauge peoples thoughts and what resources would be helpful.
I must say aswell that I have had to keep using this car daily as i need it for work and have but over 5k miles on it topping up every 3/4days.

Thanks for any replies
Guy

Hi. Presuming it's about a D2(cos there are other 4L petrol discos as well) better buy an affordable diagnostic tool(e.g Foxwell which is good except the engine management where it has some glitches) rather than struggling with multimeter all around but if you want to go the hard way see attachments though be aware that the sensor can have normal reading while the reluctor ring has a play and triggers the amigos for the same cause that's why the fault code and live data retrieved with compatible scanner is compulsory unless you want to play a "parts darts" or a guessing game which can become expensive and stressfull if you are not some extremely lucky guy:

Thanks for that I appreciate your time. I see there are many foxwell scanners for sale is any particular one the best for the disco 2 or are the cheaper ones just as good for this fault finding ?

Foxwell NT 520 or 530 or 510 Elite for Land rover which ever you find cheaper, for example THIS which is the cheapest i know with free shipping, it came to me in one week, seems that UK sellers are more expensive... it's better for SLABS than nanocom which has some glitches in that area while this one is not very reliable with the engine, seems that all the LR tools have theyrs own problems except the extremely expensive dealer level ones like Autologic or Testbook

AAMOF Hawkeye is the most reliable but unfortunately it's not very human friendly and quite poor with programming for D2
