If you use the land rover tow electrics harness that plugs in behind the rear offside light cluster, the tell tale will flash with your indicators.

If you have a read of the Rave manual it gives a description of what connector to check for the trailer lights.

Part No. STC50081
is the Land Rover Harness for the 7 pin electrics 'N' type. Very simple to install, just plug and play
Part No. STC50389
is the Harness for the split charge system 'S' type
Of course you can buy generic parts but they wont flash the tell tale on the dash without a bit of work.
I found over the years with previous motors, if you use generic stuff with scotchlok connectors or similar, over time the electrics don't work properly.
On my TD5 I bought the above N type harness and once fitted was able to forget about it, never had any problems with it.

I had a jap reimport Disco 1 which read in KM,s Perfectly ok to the DVLA.
Had to remind my garage every year that the MOT was in KM,s and to make sure that what went on paper.
Also had a sticker on the dash saying "distance reads in Kilometres"

Yes I have Land Rover trailer electrics wired in and the trailer light only lights up on ignition when trailer plug is in and flashes when trailer is connected and indicators are on.
