Hi, I have brought a 2003 discovery and would like to go touring including off road in Ireland next year, I plan to fit something like a Oztent to use when camping at night. Could you please recommend any improvements or modifications I should make before I go. Many Thanks.

First thing I would do is make sure you get all the normal niggles and common issues sorted out. Would be embarrassing being on the back of an AA truck in a heavily modded Landy.

Again, really sound advice !.

The D2 does have a list of common problems that, if not checked/sorted can easily scupper an eagerly awaited trip.

Other than that, it really depends on how much you want to spend.
In my opinion, the Discovery is a great vehicle for overland touring with little more than a good set of all terrain tyres.

I,m sure many would also agree that if you are to go offroad a lot then activating/installing the cenre diff lock function is the other great modification, ( not sure if your 2003 model will have the right transfer box for this though ), however, the D2s traction controll system does work well.

Cheers.
