I just bought my first landrover about three weeks ago, a 2000 Discovery TD5 from a small specialist garage.
I am very happy with the car but a couple of days ago the starter motor packed in. I returned the car to the garage yesterday about 10.30 am, I was told immediately, don't worry they would check the car out and sort the problem and offered me the pick of cars from the forecourt meantime.
I returned to the garage at 2.30 pm and the car was sorted. A new starter motor was fitted, a few other small niggly faults fixed and the car washed.
In the past I have had new volvos, citroens and vauxhalls and have always had to book the car in weeks in advance and argue about warranty repairs but this time for a second hand car costing just £6,000 I received terrific service.
There were 2 good points. Firstly I was able to diagnose the fault myself easily and could have carried out the work myself (than you Haynes) and the service provided by the garage(car has a warranty).
I hope the landrover experience continues to be so good.
