Right this is what I'm up against. Bolt cutters are out as I can't get them in

extension bar and smack a smaller socket on with a big hammer til it goes on. use a breaker bar for leverage if you can't turn it.

also, what's the rusty crap on the left? chop that out as it needs replacing and split the nut from the side.

2 min job :D

Yes I've tried that. There's nothing to get a socket onto. That rusty crap on the left is my crossmember

bloody hell, more pics of that chassis.

there is still a nut there, so go down a socket size.. imperial next if you have one. bang it on til it's fully home. you might smash cheap sockets.

And chop it out with what? My bare hands? If I could get an angle grinder in this would have been finished two days ago

i meant chop the rust on the left with a hammer, it looks very thin and rotten. then you can get a chisel/splitter in on the side

you done it yet?

is it cold outside?

are you frustrated?

just a thought.. you've been lying under your landy on the street for a few days now.. has no-one checked that you are alive? maybe you should make more of an effort with the neighbours.

Is it obvious that I'm frustrated? I'm sorry mate but I'm getting ****ed off and I asked for help, not **** taking. If I can't get this fixed I'm ####ed for getting to work tomorrow

May I suggest organising alternate transport.

Then a roast dinner locally.

That won't be a fix today

If I had alternate transport than I wouldn't be as stressed. I don't have another vehicle, money for buses and my bikes buggered. It's either the land rover or I walk and I'm not waking 7 miles each way

Do you not have a family member, neighbour or work mate who could give you a lift.

Being sensible there is risk of fuel tank falling out if its as bad as it looks

I wish I could help, but I'm a bit too far. :( Sorry. Is there any possibility of talking to someone at your new job about help getting there? Ok not the best start, but you never know. ..
