Yes I've tried that. There's nothing to get a socket onto. That rusty crap on the left is my crossmember
And chop it out with what? My bare hands? If I could get an angle grinder in this would have been finished two days ago
If I did that then there would be nothing to hold the fuel tank up withi meant chop the rust on the left with a hammer, it looks very thin and rotten. then you can get a chisel/splitter in on the side

If I had alternate transport than I wouldn't be as stressed. I don't have another vehicle, money for buses and my bikes buggered. It's either the land rover or I walk and I'm not waking 7 miles each way
No. Missus doesn't drive, we don't have another car, I don't know my neighbours and I start my new job tomorrow.Do you not have a family member,neighbour or work mate who could give you a lift.
Being sensible there is risk of fuel tank falling out if its as bad as it looks
