Hi
Having a problem with my recently purchased 110 v8 station wagon.
Planning to take it on a 3 week trip round france and have just had it fully serviced and have fitted new water pump, temp sensor, thermostat, radiator, alternator to be on the safe side, but the temperature guage rises to nearly max deflection after 2-3 miles. No classic signs of "overheating", no boiling over, nothing more than a very slight hiss from catch tank cap when removed, no power loss and oil temp guage never goes beyond just past halfway even on the motorway or in town traffic.
I do think the guage is at fault, but I know little or nothing of rover v8s and after a run, say 20 miles+, the top hose and top of radiator are very hot. Too hot to touch for long, and the under bonnet temp in general seems high, is this normal for an unloaded v8 110? The lower hose is just warm not hot and rad temp gets evenly cooler towards bottom.
Any advice would be hepful.
Regards
Mark
