V8, of course it's worth more than that. just trying to say it's probably another scam to get your e-mail address and then fleece you.

I'll wager that the owner tells you that he has moved abroad, taking the car with him, and is now finding it impossable to use a RHD car in Europe. He will promise that the vehicle is exactly as described and he will have it shipped direct to your home.

He will ask that you don't pay him directly, but instead pay the shipping company. If you don't like the car, then he will refund you the money, no questions asked.


So, to summerise, it's a scam.

I contacted the "owner" just on the off chance and basically asked him a few questions and also asked for the reg number and where i could view the car and this is the email he sent back:

Hi John, the reg number is VO03 VNR.
I should have mentioned that I am living in Germany now, my mother is German and I decided to start things over and settle here after a bad marriage and a nasty divorce... it took me a while to sort things out. The car is here as well, I brought it with me as I had no intention to sell it initially.
The price is rather low because I wanted sell it here to local dealers and they told me they cannot buy such a model because no one here is interested in buying a right hand drive car registered in England, due to the great fees to maintain and register such a vehicle. So I decided to lower my offer and advertise it only on the English market.
I am just trying to sell this car because I need a new vehicle as soon as possible.
Please get back to me as soon as you have the chance and let me know if you are still interested.

The asking price for the vehicle is less than the book trade price.

Put yourself in the position of the alleged seller, (who won't even own the car). You live in Germany and want shut of the motor asap with the minimum amount of fuss.

You'd either be phoning dealers in the UK and getting them to come over and buy / collect the vehicle from you, or you'd drive it back to blighty and stick it through an auction near Heathrow before flying back.

At least this guys adverts / storys are getting more believable now, and his spelling, punctuation, and grammer are getting better. He's been at this scam on Pistonheads for months now.

He did a simular thing with a Porsche 996. he was asked for an address as someone wanted to come out and view it, and that was the last they ever heard from him.

It does beg the question as to how many gulible pillocks fall for these scams ?

Theres one born every minute they reckon! lol
 
right then, go forward the email to scotland yard, include the header and keep a copy of the original email. they can trace the **** through the internet and nick him for any crimes that may have been commited or track him and keep an eye on the situation!!

oh and after you have sent the mail to scotland yard email him and tell him to **** off, report him also to piston heads team and ebay. that way he is kept on the radar and accounts cancelled!
 
there was one on ebay the other week, £4995 for a o6 plate tdv6 with 50k on it, i replied to him, said i would pay him 10k for it, and asked him to pay me the differance.
Funny how i never got a reply after that!
