Full day today, felt like I got a lot done.

Started by cutting out the rear body support.

How are the mount bolts supposed to come out when they foul on the floor

Big ammer and a pry bar and the lot came out

(Fookin put the send button next to the smiley face button and made them small )

Then set the new mounts on the old rubbers to get them in the right place. Ordered one from YRM then, luckily had some come in a order from Island 4x4, guess which is which?

Had to be careful how much I cut away so not to distort the frame, this is all that is holding the A pillar in place as the rest has rotted away

After lining everything up and tacking the mounts to the box it was back to the workshop to weld on

The YRM mount was better made and worth the extra money, thicker metal as well.

Primed the inner sill and box before fitting

Finished the day off by welding in the arch repair section

Whiskey in hand chilling now

They prolly thought they would be in for the life of the vehicle...pffft!. I just cut 'em out. Of note, though, the Rangie looked grand and sat pretty with all new mounts. For the mounts on the sills, I just drilled a hole and plopped the bolts it.

Front mounts have holes in the floor already, well the ns does, the floor was missing on the os :p

The body is coming off when the welding is done so will wiggle them in when in the air.

Got 11 weeks before it has to be moved out as the wheat will be coming in...

Hi Stu,

bet you almost wish you had bought the S11a now. Thats one heck of a project to take on.

Unfortunatly I got rid of any RR bits years ago with my old 2 door.

Have you seen that nice 2 door ner Langley Wharfe Ind Estate. I also see a sad CSK wandering round our part of town too.

AKA megatoad

I think I did, might have been yours I was reading and every time I saw a area of rot would check and see if mine had gone there, was getting depressed by the end of it as found mine had gone in most of the places

I have to say I think yours is as bad or worse than mine lol. Those sills should last for ages made of box like that :)

If it was red then that was Doms. He just got the wheels. Now he needs a spare of the same size!

Off to leeds next weekend to grab my brothers old 200 to break

There is a rangy parked our side of the railway bridge that looks to be awaiting restoration.

Nice disco outside yours yesterday.

Thats the one, Hammarite blue bonnet. Hes had that for a good 6 years that I know of, occasionally I have seen him with his head under the bonnet. He also used to have a nice series 1

Never got round to stopping for a chat yet.

Met a chap with a great Vogue in Tring very near the Dairy Garage. They also have a sweet S1 107" pickup that they wont let me have , Also noticed thay have a tasty 86/8 in the yard there at the moment, probably in for a service.

Going all out in an attempt to do nothing but mechanical stuff on it once back on the road. The reason I got in the first place was it's as old as I am and I plan on keeping it for many years to come :D
