you have no hope of removing the crank pulley with a spanner made from 4mm stamped steel, I used an air gun as i was turning wheels in 2nd with diff lock on with a breaker bar!! But mine was F-tight.

You heading for the local Land Rover specialist now? or buying a bigger toolkit? :p

No not get had to get it through the mot and have done a service on it. Its been keeping me buisy. I am going to try and do it in the next couple of weeks.

One of the adviseries on the MOT was that the water pump is leeking, if I am correct I will be changing the gasget for that when I do the Timing belt? Would you sugest while I am at it I pit a new pump on or leave it till I get problems with it, is it generaly a part that goes regulaly?

Cheers

If it's just weeping a bit I wouldn't bother replacing it, unless it's squeaking - the usual sign it's about to give up the ghost... If it's leaking badly it could be cover plate is corroded especially if previous owner has run it on neat water, so have some silicone to hand for that also.
