Sorry bout that WingeeWingee said:I've just purchased a lovely 1.8 Kalahari in silver. Drove it for an hour home - no problems. Just popped out for some take away and parked up and there's a ticking noise coming from under the car. It doesn't sound like it's going to stop! Any ideas??
I've tried starting the car again and stopping it - that didn't solve it!
Help!

Can anybody tell me - as I have a 1.8 (it's done about 29k miles) - should I get the head gasket replaced? It hasn't gone yet, but can i get it done now before it goes?!
slob said:good idea and you could change the tyres before they wear out aswell
OK simply thinking for peace of mind - I read that the engines had 100% failure (not a reliable source) and that those that have the hg repaired don't fail again... I noticed mine's been drinking coolant, so I thought why not get it done now, before it goes and does anymore damage...ming said:Dont wanna think its a done thing Wingee, loads drivin with no problems at all, you hear the sob tales in here as peeps come fer a bit oh help or a laugh, just floor it if it go's then worry bout it. . .
