P38A Thor engine Spark plugs

Hi All,

I used an NGK part finder online and it recommended the BPR5EIX for the thor engine on LPG, but then a different part finder recommended the BPR6EIX.

What's the difference between those two? I ordered the 5s before I spotted the other part finder, will the work okay or should I return them and get the 6s?

(I'm sure someone will point out the fancy iridium plugs aren't worth it, but I'm happy paying the extra for them

)

Bit of a change from the days you bought a box of ten plugs for a fiver.

The number in the middle is the heat rating.

So the ones I've got are hotter than the recommended BPR6EIX, guess they're going back!

Looking at their site NGK also do a plug specifically for LPG/CNG.
"LPG LaserLine spark plugs are dual precious metal spark plugs specifically developed for gas-fuelled engines. The combustion of gas is different from the combustion of petrol and, therefore, requires spark plugs which are specially adapted to these conditions. The gas-air mixtures are more difficult to ignite, as more ignition voltage is required and the risk of failure of the ignition coils increases. NGK LaserLine spark plugs come with a lifetime of 60,000 km, clearly outperforming “normal” spark plugs"

FWIW I've run my dualfuel 3.5EFi RRC mainly on gas for around 20 years on the BPR6E plugs recommended for petrol & not had any issues.
The other plugs listed for mine are the BPR6EIX and LPG2. The latter on ebay at silly money.
