Hi guys.
My mate brought this some time ago as a run around on his horse yard. It had failed mot on welding to chasis although not sure to what degree and hes not the type to mess around with things so just used it to get hay and feed etc back and forth in fields for some time.
Unfortunately his ground is a little steep and he has rolled it, but the pushed it back on its wheels and him being him, he just kept using it.
He has now sold his yard and moved it to another that he rents and picked up a mitsi so parked it up a few mths back and just left it there.
It drove in to where it is, he has hidden the key in or around it, but cant remember where lol, now looking, and i asked him the other day what he was going to do with it.
Simple answer was.. can't be bothered to break it so will chuck it on ebay for spares.. pick up only.
Neither he no i have a real idea as to what it would be worth, but i know he was offered £500 for it just after he rolled it, but one of his then neighbours who does a lot with landy's.
I don't have time to strip it, or i would, so i asked him if i could put some pics up and see what you guys thought it would be worth.
Then we will decide whats to be done and you may well see a for sale thread in the nr future. THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD. don't wish to be in breach of any club rules..

it's a 2.25 petrol series 3 (i think)
No paperwork as was brought as scrapped.

what you all reckon?

Pity no paperwork cause I would have had the V5 and the number plate lamp and built myself a nice series out of my disco:p

yeh, it is a shame, but it went well when he was running it, but he's not one for caring about how things look, or if paperwork comes with.
He literally just used it like a farm quad

It's a 77 series 3 not tax exempt

Not bothered about tax I just like the look of series better than defender, was going to shove the rad back in the 90 and put series grill on but steering box is in the way:rolleyes:

Shame. There's some good bits on it. Wheels, cappings good under paint, potentially engine and radiater. obviously chassis unknown. If anyone was starting a project, there could be some decent donor bits.

i did say he was offered that just after he rolled it, not just now. And being realistic were not sure on its worth, although i have no doubt a running engine and all the running gear would be worth more than £200-£250. If he can be bothered to take it all off. that's not to mention the numerous other little bits that could be utilized.

I'm pretty sure it will reach something reasonable on ebay as bound to be good for parts to someone, just a case of seeing what those in the know thought before chucking it to those who don't know on flebay lol.

not exactly sure what the procedure is on site as to how to sell something like this when you have no fixed price so i will no doubt put it up on ebay next week and see what offers come forward. Will be interesting to see what happens.

No good sat in the field is it.

Thanks for your opinions guys. Certainly helps in determining whats reasonable, whats not and whats.. chop your hand off good lol

if it was rolled you don't know if damage was done to the running gear though ;)

Yeh, i know what your saying mate. The nly good thing being that it pretty much went on its side up against a loral bush which sat against cab. Then when righted it was driven around for probably a year or more with no issue, including on some tarmaced areas on yard.
Pretty sure all is good, but there is always that chance as you said.

2.25 petrol engine worth £25 at scrap yard at the most... no one pays for those engines in any condition.
axles go for about £30 each and G/B + T/B in unknown state about the same

If someone wanted a project they'd be better off spending £400 on one which runs and hasn't been rolled - replacing all the body panels would cost more than that.
