Ere James....

Bearing in mind we is working in the dark here.......

howabout blanking off all the bottle pipes except for one at the bottom of the tank.... and connecting that to te top of the rad. - just to use as an expansion pipe?
It will be upstramof the EWP, so shouldnt be pressurised by the EWP.

????????

Could clamp it, see what happens? HGF :D

The ewp only sucks from rad. But pumps into bottle two small hoses get swamped!

I think its only the larger of the two hoses that gets flooded - the littlun doesnt seemt o have much coming out of it when the pump is operating. We just need to stop so much getting forced up into there as simply as possible - that's my theory.

Will.

Technically, the header tank is only there to supply some extra coolant to the plumbing when the stuff that's in there cools and contracts - I don't think it's actually meant to supply any coolant as such. Perhaps something like one of those fuel bulbs that only allow flow in one direction would work? That would prevent coolant getting forced into the tank but would allow extra coolant down into the system when cold?

Cos it's pumping water into it it stands to reason that it's pumping air somewhere else? Possibly causing localised hotspots and shoving more out?

Entirely plausible, that big old air bubbles gets shoved into the rad via the small bleeed hose I reckon.

Alright, why do't we get another feed hose and fit a manifold to it and experiment with different restriction rates or total restriction. Not too expensive.

lots of motors use a sealed system, with just an expansion tank, rather than the complicated convoluted system in the Hippoo, but I aint a Thermo-Dynamicist. It is very much trial and error, with yu carrying the can
