The fab wheels weren't the p[roblem. The problem was the local tea leafs and teh fact that fprd locking wheel nuts only come in 12 varieties, once you get a full set you can remove any wheel. They hit a few of teh nicer fords in the are, the lady up the road got done TWICE when they came back to nick here new wheels following the orginal theft. Of Copurse the rozzers were no good, not only did they tell me about the gang operating when i reported it, they then ahd the effing cheek to send me a letter saying that they were conducting a 'Telephone Investigation'

"Excuse me Mr Nicker, were you responsible...."

Beggars beleif, but there's more. They aslo nicked the ST badge off the back, and just up the road there was a guy on ebay selling....four ST wheels, nearly new tyres & ST badge.

Agin rozzers were not interested, waste of time, would rather be chasing their arse around the paperwok i suppose.

Still I guess you get what you pay for these days (Paid training, final slary pension after 25yrs grrrr)

Assuming you go round and find the wheels, tyres and badge, how do you prove (because that's what is required in this country to convict someone) that they came from a particular car and/or were stolen by the present seller?

The chances of having a record of the tyre serial numbers, photos good enough to match the wheels showing marks/scratches etc and a confession from the tealeaf are I would suggest slim.

Unless of course you used forensic marking dye / paint on them in which case it's easy as. Cost about a tenner online and would stand up in court to convict for theft/handling.

I would suggest that if it's worth something to you it will be to someone else so protect it.

Realise the internet is slow the further North you travel but this thread is over 3 years old, doubt very much the present owner would be the same one as when the thread was started!
