yup, once you remove it, throw it in the nearest wheeliebin so yer aint tempted to put it back on
hope that post will be coming soon! I've had loads of posts on here about it and had plenty of ideas and help and done loads of searching but to no cure, but this is the first i have heard of a header tank squeak or to bin the fan. so fingers crossed this could be the last that's said on the subject apart from the victory boast! Then it MUST be sorted if it's gettin that bad!!!
I think Halfrauds do the spanner too - good luck and as always let us know what the prob does turn out to be, completion of a fred gives the seasoned LZers justification intelling the newbies to "do a search"!!!
OD
i ran a disco for two years without a fan, never even got warm mate
the dribbley cap is now bodged/fixed
got a spandanna but could i fook get the fan off!!
so while i figure a way to get it off Ive been told of another thing to try,
when i removed the egr i replaced the top hose with some steel pipe (actually a piece of bumper from a Morrison's fridge!) which had just about the right bend in it to line up the inlet with the intercooler.
someone has suggested that the noise could be the 'pitch' of the pipe - seens as it started when i cleaned the cooler and now more pressure running through it. so a 200 top hose it will be
fan is off- big screwdle driver and a big knocking stickmite b able to catch it on my phone but ill have to get r'lass to put it on here for me!
fan is now off, new top turbo hose, egr blank re gasket-ed, new belt(2nd time) new tensioner bearing, all hoses checked again.
cant afford to take it to a garage and cant change the water pump because of the rounded bolts! end of my tether now!!!!
