according to various studies, when ill a patient can tell you what they think is wrong with them accurately up to about 90%. A flipping Landy often has you fooled for ages!;) and won't tell you at all.:(
Mine did for months this summer!:mad:
 
I have to agree…..When my patients are connected to the various monitors and medical equipment we do get a constant flow of observations and anything outside normal parameters “flag up”…..It seems they are very similar then….we connect the Landy’s to the diagnostic code readers and hope for best !! Ha ha X

But like a monitor can't tell you whether a patient has broken an ankle or just sprained it, the diagnostics on the thing you plug into your Landy can't tell you if the hub bearing is wearing out or not and not even which wheel it's on. Which is why it took me months to work out the "thrum-thrum-thrum" noise mine was making was the nearside front hub!

Oooh there is a gap in the market then…..We need to invent an MRI scanner for Land Rovers…..:D:D
 
Some Landies with on board diagnostics are definitely in the Munchausen's camp!

I just listen to mine, and it usually tells me what's up... eventually. And I usually find something else that's nearly wrong on the hunt for the original issue :rolleyes:
 
I wonder why we continue on this path of Land Rover heartache…..they are noisy, smell a bit funny and every passenger says “ is it supposed to do that” and we reply….yes of course, it’s what they “do” :p What the alternative mode of transport?? The person who says Nissan Qasquai will be first against the wall….xx

I've had a BMW X3 before, and it was bloody awful. The interior looked 15 years older than it was (it was only marginally more modern than my 1988 Rangie, and it was 20 years newer). The doors leaked, as they do on all BMWs. It was just nowhere near as nice as my Rovers.
I've had hot hatches that were fun, but had nothing like the personality of my Range Rovers.
I can see an old Toyota Land Cruiser might be nice, but again, not as much personality.
The kicker for me is, can anyone find a V8 that's as cheap as Range Rover Classics? I doubt it.

Glad you have got it all sorted, every car needs maintenance so there was no point in replacing a car you do like. Personally if the garage is trusted as you say I would let them supply all the parts required as it keeps things much simpler all round especially if there are any problems with the repairs that need to be done on warranty as it can get very complicated if they didn't supply the parts.
