That first pic is some sort of estate car so defo overweight, second one is a Mercedes Ml late 90s early 2000s which according to google has a tow capacity of 5000lbs ie 2.5 ton/ne ish!

reckon the trailer must be 750kg
be interesting to see the eight plate on the trailer

plus 2 cars

.. i wouldn't want to be stood with plod on side of road with that discussion..

Been there done that... got away once got done once..

I was pulled a few times by vosa onto weighbridge as I used to have a large trailer & 2 80” trials landrovers on them.
Pity I used a weighbridge once fully loaded with fuel, water etc before I left. I would let them go through the motions then show a ticket.

as for farm sales.... no matter how much they fit on a trailer they don’t have enough straps to keep it safe for the 30miles drive home

Straps are overrated...

we once loaded a corn trailer using a telehandler which couldn't lift it only push it up the ramps onto a tri axle ivor williams trailer with drawbar at the back, car and front of trailer were like a big V.. they were going to Exeter from us 200miles... i would not have gone 20. made his wife drive thought that was top work

or the bloke who casually hooked a 30ft 4 wheel flat bed farm trailer onto his pickup truck using the ring of teh drawbar and set off unbraked for 50mile journey..

it is all fine till Plod see you or the accident occours

Back when i lived in Scotland was overtaken by a Transit towing a travellers caravan one of the big long ones Tabart I think theyre called...didnt make the corner jacknifed and hit a tree caravan ended up in the back of the Transit...couldnt believe my eyes when around 10 got out of the Transit and 15 from the caravan..they were all bloody lucky that all were OK apart from hobbling around rubbing knees and elbows...tin of sardines springs to mind now I live in Portugal...lol

I've seen Farm trailers and double floor cattle trailers towed by 4x4s many times over here.

Made of strong stuff those knackers.

Aren't they both the ML?
AND isn't that a removable tow bar? Don't they have reduced limits?

here you go @v8250 40k insurrance claim for the cars, we didn't claim for the damage to the trailer, plod spent 30 mins looking round it before i told him it was 6 weeks old. Trailer bent step only damage we had. No skid marks in any area either.

It was a very odd thing to watch in the mirror i can tell you as it went over
what are old bill doing with tools in their hands?

Reckon

The trailer is 750kg minimum
Marcos Weighs 500kg ish
one on the back is 1300 - 1500
Engine 50 - 100kg

So if he is rated at 2.5 he is very close at best more likely over his allotted 2.5
But his nose wheel weight is way off with the engine on the front

certainly wouldn't want to go to far with that outfit.

Would be a very slow ride or a white knuckle affair whilst watching the mirror like a hawk for the first hint of sway..
