The Peak District National Park want to ban all recreational vehicular users and are proposing to do this by a series of TRO (Traffic Regulation Orders), even though we have been in discussions with them.

The first two are probably the most iconic lanes in the the Park – Roych Clough and Stanage Edge.

Documents can be found here:
Traffic Regulation Order Consultation 2012: Peak District National Park Authority

It's now just a numbers game and we need you to write/email PDNP and oppose the TROs. One or two sentences will do!

If it's not obvious, you need to email:

[email protected]

and

[email protected]

ASK FOR CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT OF EMAIL

If you need help, please ask.

IT'S POTENTIALLY THE END OF LANING IN THE PEAK DISTRICT...

Please write now.

Something like the below via email guys?

Subject Line - Propsed Traffic Regulation Orders at Long Causeway and The Roych

To whom it may concern,

I should like to express my personal objection to these proposed TRO’s. As a responsible 4x4 owner and user of said lanes, I always take care to be considerate to ramblers and take great care not to damage the environment.

Can you please confirm receipt of my email?

Kind regards,

In the process of writing a 2 page letter to them out lining several concerns and issues, highlighting walking routes in the Peak District which are really badly suffering from too many walkers which some of the £100k budget they have could be wisely spent, highlighting the effects of water erosion, etc.

Hi there,

Despite the complaints of various people who claim to love the countryside, I would dearly like to point out that those of us that enjoy the lanes in the peak district while using our vehicles would be opposed to the idea of banning us.

We have been in touch with protest groups and have offered to help in many cases where repairs have been necessary. We are not, as described, irresponsible, rather we are a group of people who enjoy access to the countryside using our vehicles, Indeed, it is worth noting that in some cases, we would be unable to access the countryside without our vehicles due to disability.

Please do not remove the access to the countryside that we currently enjoy... instead remember that only one in a hundred lanes are available to the disabled, and to vehicles.

Thank you

Chris T
