Hi Gerald and all. Well the big day is here, phoebes off for her ITV ( MOT )
I was chatting to our maintenance man this morning, trying to extract some more information from him on what the process involves.
Sounded very complicated especially with the language difficulties so was over the moon when he said, no problem I will take it for you !
That's saved me a lot of time and hassle especially as you sit in the car and get shouted at in Spanish by the tester,
So everyone please cross your fingers for me that all will be ok lol.

He's just brought her back - - - -
Break out the cigars, she's only gone and passed !
Few very minor advisories, door mirrors broken ( always were )
Number plates too old ( metal non reflective )
And headlights cloudy ( sun damage )
My biggest worry was corrosion which this year has magically cured itself and they said last year it wouldn't pass as converted to 2wd !
They said exactly the same this time lol.

I did ! But got her a special treat lined up, an oil and filter change, fuel filter change and am getting engine mount changed !
I have to laugh, I see pictures owners on here post showing state of their bushes etc. I've had a crawl underneath phoebe and can't see any rubber left at all !
Would never pass a UK test.
The steering test involves driving onto two circular plates that rotate, they ask you to turn wheel from left to right then shout stop ! Apparently thats enough to check everything, steering suspension etc.
I won't complain though as I didn't think she'd pass.
Test cost 44 € and 26 cents which is expensive for ten minutes !

lol, I actually like that the test over here are quite thorough. I don't even mind that they are 6, not 12, months. It means I don't check hardly anything no the car - not even tyre tread - I just replace them, or anything else, that it fails the test on. I will check bulbs and washer bottle before a test - just so I don't have to go back for a retest for something silly that only takes a couple of seconds to check.

Test here starts when four years old, then biannually till it's ten years old, then every year.
When twenty five it becomes exempt.

If you are comparing New Zealand cricket to Aussie in unsporting behavior, then I shall report the post for gross abuse.

NZ cricket is to "nice" - its why they don't win anything!

I have a mate who emigrated to Melbourne and his honest view was that Oz is as bad as the US and full of hard-nosed aggressive types whereas NZ is like the UK used to be; full of friendly, approachable and pleasant folks.
He preferred his sales call visits to NZ.

Wish we had made the break. Herself was in an in-demand profession (theatre recovery sister) but she wouldn't leave her kids here in the UK.
