I really can't fault the delivery times on this stuff, ordered Tuesday evening after the bank holiday Monday and delivered to Poland Thursday morning, stunning!

The ht leads look chunky as anything I've ever seen before, 10 mm apparently all other associated bits in lucas boxes, so probably come with built in smoke. The dizzy looks to be well made or at least the casting is, I suppose the proof will be in the fitting tomorrow.

But for the price so far I'm more than happy, I'll keep you informed on the rest of it.

Wish me luck, I'm going in!

Impressive delivery service :)
Hope all goes to plan. We all know it rarely does, but no harm in being optimistic ;)

Well its in and running, lovely smooth idle picks up well, not a single missed spark so far.

build quality is as good as original if not a bit better, but the the original is 20 odd years old so no surprise it looks shinier. The leads that came are monsters i was replacing some 8mm silicone ones and they were dwarfed by the new set, plenty of length too which is nice, i will dress them in properly tomorrow.

the only issue was the amp being on the side of the dizzy but with some jiggery pokery i managed to leave it where it was on the dizzy and still get enough advance for the timing up, it would foul under normal installation but remounting where LR put the original would soon cure that but as it stands i will leave it where it is on the dizzy for now and monitor the heat build up around it. I have plenty of spare amps now anyway so if it needs to be moved or is effected by heat too much im not massively worried about that for the time being.

I didnt fit the new coil that came with it as i had a brand new coil already fitted and it started and ran well enough with that so the new one has gone in the spares box.

so all in all i would definitely recommend the bundle deal at the moment, delivery A1 and build quality and instructions a solid A, we will see as far as performance goes but at the end of the day a disco isnt exactly a sports car, all im looking for is a solid reliable ignition system that keeps things firing as and when it should and for the price of this set up i really cant complain.

I take it you mean you moved the drive gear on a tooth to get the amp where you needed it. Glad you have it sorted. I'm a bit unsure of timeline of amp positioning. iirc the rrc earlier efi models had it mounted on inner wing near coil and later models piggy backed. Works either way tho heat sink grease must be smeared on if it is refitted at any time in its current position
