How easy is it to fit a generic 12n socket (£12 at halfords) as opposed to the plugin lr one that cost £50 +.
Any other cheapskates like me out there ?

You wont be able to use the dedicated plug behind the rear off side light cluster so you would either have to splice into the loom or cut the plug off the car and make the connection up, from memeory i don't think that there is a lot of play in the cable behing the light

Go for the Land Rover one and when you sell the car, sell the cable on Ebay

Agree with biggeeee

Luckly the guy i got my TD5 Disco off had landy one fitted.

Had an accident with the caravan coming off the towhitch and it shagged the electric socket so i've just wired a new socket into it gonna sort better weekend there is not a lot of play on the plug so easie with the proper connector
