Hi,
Since replacing the wife's 20 year old 200tdi 110 with a newer (54 plate) td5 it has always left a little engine oil on the drive after having been driven. Not really too much to get worried about but a niggle.
Cleaned up the turbo side of the engine where and have managed to identify that the leak is coming from behind the oil cooler. Checked the oil filter and it's not the source of the leak but it's difficult to pinpoint where it's coming from as the turbo is blocking my view.
Before I start with the scanners has anybody experienced this and if you give me some pointers it would be great.
Thanks

It doesn't need to mark it's territory - its a great big black beast that nobody is gonna mess with....the truck not the missus :D

Found the source of my leak....... It was the gasket between the oil filter cartridge adapter and the oil cooler. It was a relatively simple job. Turbo off and then just 3 bolts hold the cartridge adapter to the oil filter.
Now turning my attention to my lack of reversing light as its MOT time. Had hoped it was going to be a simple replacement of the reverse light switch, but no such luck. On removing the gearbox tunnel it revealed that there's no wires attached to the reversing switch. A weekend of fun ahead!!!

I just assumed it was but on reading your comment I have checked and it appears that it's not part of the test. Thanks Scotsman.

The bloke on that part of the production line at the Land Rover factory probably just nipped out for a roll-up just as your tratter went past his part of the line.

Just bad luck really.

:D
