Not been on much of late, too busy fitting a wetroom and a new kitchen at home. I have seen more of the trade counter at Screwfix than I have of my Mrs! Still all done, now I can go and play!

Got ECU back from Gary at Alive, latest software and correct fuel map for my 2003 15P TD5.
Dodgy idling sorted, runs like a dream pulls like a train.
All good, the man is a genius!

Will be taking the TD5 to BHP in Broadstairs, (Official Alive tuning associate) to see Steve Gore (another legend, more about Steve later!).
BHP have a full MAHA 4 wheel drive rolling road.

So watch this space for pics n vids of the Alive re map process.

General check over today, found this.
Its that bad you can see deterioration without removing it,
According to my log I replaced the belt and tensioner in Feb 2016, using Bearmach parts.
All Idlers are fine, just one making the slightest of noise but I mean slightest.

Wont be using them again, fitted DAYCO today. Ordered the lot at 09:10, belt and tensioner delivered at 10:30, on a Saturday .....
gotta love my Omnipart trade account. Makes me lazy and spend more money!
Also ordered two INA Idler wheels as not in stock.

Dayco or Gates, nothing else compares to them in terms of reliability and longevity.

Well impressed by the delivery time from ordering on a Saturday, my local motorfactors only open on a Saturday morning and don't deliver on a Saturday, don't stock much either :(

I sort of like the fact that the DAYCO tensioner is slightly more expensive than the genuine LR one!
Gen LR I think are made by LITENS, some have a INA bearing (INA are good) made in canada others from china do not, on the whole LITENS don't have great reviews etc, so its a lottery there then!

EUROCARPARTS.... open a trade account (doddle) then you access OMNIPART (same website, wider range and better prices) they deliver same day, so expected it that day, just not within 90 mins though! Open 7 days all good.

PS not used Gates, have heard really good things, but never had much luck trying to match up part numbers, so being lazy I always go for DAYCO, my suppliers offer a variety of makes, but not Gates , Contitech and Febi Bilstien come up a lot but I always go for DAYCO. We have quite a few vehicles and project cars friends and family etc! Not to mention my 'bordering on mental illness' collection of sheds that "just need a bit of work and an MOT"

I used to restore Triumphs so nuff said about my mental health obsessions o_O:rolleyes::oops::eek:o_O!

Dont suppose you have the part numbers for the idler pulleys from Gates? doing my mates after what we discovered today, so will use them on his etc

I've no idea but I'll have a look Monday as I need to order up a full set of spare belts for my Discovery for the stores, you never know when they'll go! I use the Gates Autocat website for searches, it's a yank site but does most of the LR stuff.

cheers, tried that could not find for a 2003 90 15p td5 etc

Rear Diff oIl seal replacement / Diffs n transfer fluid change today, greased props etc
Might need a new flange se how it goes, fitted a LR oil seal the one I took (fell out) had odd markings, assume 'happy shopper' or 'sheetpart' (not even sure if there is a difference)
Popped in new prop shaft bolts I had knocking around and meaning to fit one day, still got three more ends to do lol.
Rewarded myself with a couple of ice cold Aspalls, was thirsty so necked the first one, and had to tidy up feeling nicely sloshed... cant be arsed to move truck off ramps, will do in the morn etc.

Those ramps are feckin brilliant

Fitted my screen in the workshop this afternoon got it wired to laptop and Delphi Diag.
Very happy, does everything the noncom does and more, much more. The ability to custom set my live data graphs is just superb!
It does every car & truck / lorry since 2000. Used on on our VW's as well beats the VAGCOM hands down.

;) yep luv em, fly about on my little stool and do most jobs sitting comfortably for a change!
Heavy duty and rated at 3Ton, keep meaning to knock up a crossbar thing so i can jack it up a bit and remove front or rear wheels etc.

Every time I use them i keep meaning to mark the floor for each of our vehicles but never do and spend 5 mins each time lining them up o_O You can get cheap ones on ebay but them why risk being squashed?

Can it program keys on a D2?

Cheers

Cheers
I assume so, providing the key is programmed via the vehicle and not some dongle thing.
It does do key and fob programming, still learning how to use it so will report back.
See here for D2 run through

Looks interesting, i wonder how it works with a non OBDII fully compliant TD5 engine in the D2.

Cheers
