TD 4 ES AUTO 43 mpg aircon always on, &#163;50 to fill, better than my disco tdi200 32 mpg &#163;75 to fill, my series 2a 2+1/4 oiler does 27 hectars to the fathem and it makes soot and fog...sent me company car back, too much tax and reminded me of work everytime I got in it, I was at the feckin office, sent it back 4 years ago, and aint regretted it once...

Well, I picked up my brand spanking new TD4 on friday, so I guess I'll soon find out how many miles I'll get out of a tank!

Its is frickin' gorgoeous! We usually park at the side of the house but we've been parking it right in front of the kitchen window - just so we can look at it more!! Sad? Who cares?!!!! Its Java Black, black interior, had side steps and roof rails put on and it looks mint!! I LOVE it. I'm finding every excuse under the sun to "pop out for a while"!!!!

Only problem is the other half burned some MP3 files to CD and put it in the CD player only for it to get jammed! Then checked the manual wich said not to use CDRs in it! Ooopps!! Still haven't got it out. Just glad it wasn't me that did it!!

I've had 6 tank fulls since I bought my freelander which had 24,000 miles on the clock. Fuel consumption averages between 27.64-30.94 mpg. This has been measured "click to click" i.e. when the diesel pump clicks to indicate tank is full, I do not top-up.

Tank capacity seems to be 62-65 litres. 65 Litres = 14.3 gallons as far as I am aware! Therefore, assuming a 65 litre tank, I have so far got between, 395 and 442 miles per tank full of Diesel, although unless you run the tank dry (which I don't recommend!) you're never gonna know how far a whole tank will get you!

PS Mine's an auto!

Hi Ronak,

Yes, I guess his measurement is off as 43 mpg equals some 6.56 litres per 100 kms, rather unbelievable for an Hippo auto, especially as the A/C on all the time. (Unless he swopped engine and put a 1.3 VW diesel engine in it driving at 40 mph at max. ?)
