Everything is looking good with the car, however, there is one fault. The rear tailgate window will not close.
Everything looks as if it is working ok (switching, electrical, etc) and the glass will raise and lower as it should, however when raising the glass, it gets to the top and there is an audible warning sound (three bings) and then the glass lowers and stays down. The only way around this fault is to take the fuse out when the window has closed fully - timing is everything !!
I've tried recalibrating the rear window (as per the manual), with no success, checked the tailgate is closed properly and I've checked the hardtop is secure and there is no movement. I've also had the door panel off and can not see anything that might be causing a problem.
When the window goes down it does look a bit high and appears to be very wobbly in the door frame (not sure if any of that is relevant )
My thoughts are that;
1. The glass is set too high and needs to be lowered ?
2. there is some sort of 'pinch' sensor on the window
3. there's a faulty sensor on the hardtop making the car think the roof is not locked down
As you can see I'm no mechanic and any help would be really great !
