I've got a new set of rockers, shaft and bushes for my engine. They keep going out of adjustment quite quickly and there are burs and flats worn on the valve contact area, after all the time and money I've spent I might as well get this bit right.

Now, before I try this, if I take out the bolts holding the rocker shaft down, without removing the other head bolts will this knacker my head/gasket?
Am I best:
- getting a new gasket and redoing it (PITA)
- slackening all the bolts off and redoing the sequence (without replacing gasket)
- is there another way of doing it "quickly".

I'm guessing it will be too much to hope to be able to slide out the rocker shaft without undoing the head bolts....

Cheers D

I did this the other day. S3 book said torque the lot in the original order. No mention from what I remember of loosening the others.

I simply tightened the rocker bolts from the centre - outwards progressively.
