Swap from 4,0 to 2,5 diesel

Hi !
Last year I bought a Range Rover 1997. 4,0 .
The car came original from USA, with electrical leather seats and sunroof and etc.
Now I have installed a 2,5 BMWdiesel engine.(from a Range with no elctr. in seats and sunroof)
The engine and the transmission is working ok.
I am having problem with BeCM, I can not synchronize the diesel BeCM with the alarm-system in the car, and I am not getting the seats and sunroof to work.
I have been told, that the Becm is programmed from factory as 4,0, and there is no way to change that.(that is from 4,0 to 2,5 diesel)
Do any of you recognize this kind of a problems?

yeah, dont mess with a v8 rangey, why would you want to put a stinky oil burner in a rangey, the diesel's only really return about 23mpg anyway,, just buy a 2.5 dhse if you want all the toy's and are happy with 0-60 in 2 days!!,

Hmmmm not wanting to start a war... but mine gives my mates V8 hse a good run for its money and returns around 30mpg on the motoway... thats alot more than the V8... and all down to a simple power box...

Soooooo taking into account the power i get compared to the crappy V8 (yes i said crappy) and the fuel return i get id say its a better all rounder...

AND before you petrol loving fellow rangie lovers go mental this is just my personal opinion and thats why i got the DSE.

If you ever heard an old KELVIN K1 diesel running then you wouldnt say that. you fire it up on petrol and it revs at a preset rpm that you have no control over... then when shes warm you throw over the decompressors and away she goes on diesel, doesnt rev high at all but has enuf torque to run a crane... or a 70ft steel boat, a smooth thumping sound closly followed by the gentle "knocking" sound of the injector fireing, or even better the tickover sound of a lister JP3 ticking over at bearly 250 rpm, and flat out at 750rpm at nearly 1ltr per cylinder... then and only then will you truly understand the diesel engine and possibly appreciate it.

Dont fall into the pit trap of the "hate the diesel" followers, just coz petrol has a higher flash point it doesnt mean its better.

All Becms have the software pre installed for both petrol and diesel variants. The engine type and other equipment option have to be programmed in with diagnostics. Obviously all the required inputs/outputs have to be in place for it to function.

the cheat way would be to swap the becm and the door locks from the diesel one and resnc if it has a hi line becm you can switch on all the functions and as ish says it can be done on the original petrol becm too unless it has a internal failure
