Ar - but thats where yu got it wrong - the trick is not to follow everyone else blindly, but to choose the best route down a lane being in mind both your and your motors skills and capabilities. He dint bottle any lane, did he.

Uh...yeah. I found it bes to reverse out the situation I found myself in and try again....in a different way.
 
Always the best way to drive, constant assessment and re evaluations, that's why no one ever gets hindered in that particular manner you described as "stuck". Isn't that swearing on here???

ang on a sec, how did i get it wrong?? i didnt follow anyone blindly, i was in front! there was noone for me to follow!

but yea i agree, half of the skill in off roading is calculating and then choosing the route that you dont get stuck down! although i know when i first started i found it useful to watch other peoples methods!
