And thanks Redwings for the offer of the lights, may take you up on that !

Hey Pintsize,

R you guys going to Tring ?

Hows yrr snorkel coming on ??

Won't be going now, my errrmmm 'mud issues' from Brick Kiln injured the Jap one more than anticipated. I have a bent conrod! Kris is ripping the head off the engine tonight hopefully and is gonna take a good butchers to see if I have stuffed anything else. Doesn't look as tho I have damaged it too much at the mo. Won't prob be out and about til next weekend now. :hurt:
Next on the list after the partial engine rebuild  is a snorkel. No more water sports until that is fitted methinks. Can't believe I've been driving around with a bent conrod, without pistons and bits of engine shooting up into outer space.
How good is that car?

Greetings to all!
I hope I am not flamed too badly for this but I am a Land Cruiser owner living in Surrey:cool: If acceptable to the good LR folk in this county, I am keen to join the occasional green lane foray in Surrey. My LC is stock for now, so not overly keen to bite off anything extreme yet.:rolly: Plan is to do some mods at some point in future and then the fun will start!
I hope there are some Surrey LR owners willing to take me under their wing:)

Cheers,
Andrew

Cool, I've always wanted to see what a Land Cruiser looks like on it's roof :D Just kidding ! I'm fairly new here, so I can't say for sure, but I'm don't think any one will have a problem with you tagging along.

You will need Mud Terrain or All Terrain tyres and some recovery points at the very least. The 80 series is a big ass truck, think they came with over 200hp, so I assume they must weigh a ****load ! Not sure my 68hp NAD would be able to tow you anywhere, well not without a long run up and a stretchy rope iow you need proppa recovery points !

Alas no one seems to be playing this weekend :(

Thanks Booger - I hope not to entertain you with my Cruiser upside down:D Yes, it's rather hefty - I think weighing just under 3t in current form. Plenty of oomph though!
As mentioned, it's currently in stock form - tyres are ATR so a little less aggressive than AT but some reasonable void space and not complete road tyres. A big part of my interest in starting with some gentle laning is to see how my tyres fare. Unfortunately, the previous owner put 2 brand new tyres on when I bought it, so ditching £100 tyres with 4k miles on (look like new) goes a little against the grain. If they prove total ****e on some slippery roads, then I'll be more comfortable abandoning them. I have no intention of doing anything too extreme and much of my use is on-road with the family, so MTs are not on the cards...

Cheers,
Andrew

Ow pint size thats no good! You sure it wasn't Dan at violets lane? that was pretty deep but I guess it ran ok on the way home. Jai

Can't do this weekend either. The carbs need fettleing, I also need a new battery and I've got family over so no opportunity
To get out.
Happy to do some easier stuff too as I'm a feeble woman and not as brave as Pintsize. :D
Sorry Pintsize to hear about the RAV, hope its sorted soon.

Surprisingly enough, Violets Lane didn't kill it, still think that was her best performance to date.
It ended up at quite an angle at Brick Kiln. Only ran for a couple of secs, just long enough to suck up all the **** into the air box and into the engine. Least i'm not looking at buying a recon engine.
