P38A Subwoofer rebuild is it possible?

My old woffer has seen better days the foam around the cone has disintegrated, are there any specific rebuild kits availible or is it a case of trying to find a good 2nd hand unit..

i believe its an Alpine unit if the radio is anything to go by.

Appreciate any and all help..

I looked on the Bay some time ago,there were kits available.

AMR3770 discontinued or XQA100050 available. Clarion radio to 1998, Alpine 1999 on..

One of the guys on here did a refurb on some of the smaller speakers fitting new cones but can't remember if it was biketeacherdave or ukadamwest .

The door speakers could also do with a refurb..

I replaced my knackered cones with a pair of these:

Seem to work fine.

edit: They're cheap as chips from the US amazon site, and don't take too long to arrive

Yeah but I cannot remember which.

Clarion do a refurb service for a very reasonable price online.

Looking at the pic it looks like just the foam edge gone? If it is would something here help

That looks like the ticket, the foam is the only problem.

You can buy the foam surrounds I believe its not rocket science unless you have sausage fingers like me.
If you swap the drivers for different they will sound different, are they expensive second hand? I be repair kits are £20-30?
Personally if you ask on Pink Fish Media they will point you to a few guides

There are big differences in the frequency response of similar looking speakers and different ohms for the coil.

You are quite right, but misogynistic rap always sounds the same

No matter what.

In the mid 70's I bought a set of Wharfedale E70's and kept them going with many repairs until about 2 years ago. I sold them for more than I originally paid for them. They were a great speaker, especially for valve amps and the guy that bought them wanted them for his home cinema.

You could use the pretty red stuff. Or, see if they do a blue to match Fudge. You might not see it but you would have the pleasure of knowing
