Stratford area inspection for Defender 90

Hello everyone.. I am new to the site and am looking to purchase a mid 90’s D90. I have recently caught the bug on getting older cars/trucks that I value and that might be ok to work on and upgrade over time. I am located in the states but have a local friend in area who is not a mechanic(and won’t be able to provide a technical assessment for me).

I am looking for a local shop(of course honest the trustworthy) that can review a mid-90’s defender (300tdi) in the Stratford/Warwickshire area. The mechanic would need to be able to go onsite for the evaluation and is well versed in reviewing common issues with corrosion and overall health of engine/ drivetrain. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I have seen some mobile mechanics online, but I fear those are more general assessment for newer cars. I’m really hoping to find some one who lives and breathes these vehicles.

I have owned a disco series 2 in past(v8) but don’t have experience with the diesels or defenders in general.

Town and country Land Rover in leamington. I have used them before. Usually for parts rather than inspection work. But they did the on site inspection for my 110 when I was challenging the write off category after the engine fire. Wrote up the report and I successfully Got it downgraded to a cat n based on their report.

Thanks for the lead.. I contacted them and they are booked out till mid September (which may not be soon enough considering if the owner of the D90 can't wait). Any other recommendations as backup?

I talked with the owner of the D90, and they will require the inspection to be onsite. Any more recommendations would be appreciated!

Try Cannon Services near Banbury, he may be willing to do it.
Not too far to travel but you will be paying for a few hours of his time (travelling plus the inspection itself).

That was going to be my next suggestion. I have not used them personally. But mother in law has.
