It is a emotional shock. Been there when a house got broken into 30 years ago. Stuff can be replaced but the shock of being violated never leaves.

Best wishes to you and yours

I know exactly where you're coming from having had 2 burglaries in 2013, it is firstly an emotional shock, then there is the anger that someone thinks they can take what you've worked hard for. Losing a 6 month old vehicle must be devastating, not that it can't be replaced but would you want it replaced?

Hello there my Defender 110 SW was taken some time between 8pm and 8am from my work in Stow Maries near Chelmsford, Essex.

The scum had angle grinded their way through a chained gate and taken my Landy which was actually broke down awaiting recovery from the AA first thing this morning. So how they took it I don't know, towed it or flatbed truck.

:(
I'm wondering if someone disabled your Landy while it was parked at your work place so they could return during the night and 'recover' it with no risk of being disturbed. If your work place is away from residential properties, then it is a very strong possibility...especially if you only knew it was broken down when you went to drive it home.
IF THERE ARE ANY POLICE OFFICERS READING THIS I HOPE YOU KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR ANYONE OUT AT NIGHT CARRYING A CORDLESS ANGLE GRINDER IN ANY VEHICLE YOU STOP AND CHECK.

I do really hope you get it back, but my fear is that as it was targeted then it's most probably being stripped for parts or in a container on the way to eastern europe. It really makes me mad that someone who has worked hard for what they want get it nicked by low life scum.

The man from the insurance company came out today to assess the value of the vehicle.

Really really :(

Still, that's more than I've heard from the police.

Miss my Landy.

Though I have heard that you can weld a plate underneath the passenger seat and that means the thieving scum can't cut the wires that come from the battery box. I'm assuming that's what they did to disable it.

Am still heart broken about this and I know I need to get a grip.

At that age the insurance company should pay out what a new or nearly new one would cost, surely?!

Sorry for this mate, am gutted for you, sadly police now look at car crime / theft as petty theft...its not petty is f**** serious.
Mate of mine had car nicked, called police who said chance of recovery really low, call ya insurance...he then stated his legally owned 303 rifle was locked in the boot (no ammo) his car was found within 24 hrs, rifle too...funny that..
Hope you get it back or you get new replacement.
Keep us all posted

.
Do you mean weld a plate to the passenger seat base frame so that you have to unbolt the seat to check the battery etc. You could fit bolts with security heads. I would expect them to cut the main battery cable from the battery to the fuse box under the drivers seat.
Here's a thought for you.... re-route the battery cable up from the fuse box into the space behind the drivers seat then across behind the cubby box, behind the passenger seat and down into the battery compartment !!!

The police really need to get their act together this is getting beyond a joke!:frusty:
