GUTTED. In many ways.

Thru the amazing modern tech out there....some geocache people found the remains of land rovers. They googled and managed to find me to contact me.

They then sent the precise location where they found stuff.

:censored:

Found just a bare chassis with many mangled parts around. Looks like the dead bolts caused some problems - tub is mangled for a starter.

While picking up my strewn personal effects the Police turned up. Nothing they can get from the remains - but i pointed them in the direction of an ebay advert where a 90 seems to be wearing my front wings, interior and drivetrain. A polite suggestion that they get to them before i do -

Wish I hadnt found her like this - in a way it's closure.

Thank you all so much for your help and sympathy.... really thank you.

few bits there worth keeping....

get another and start again, salvage what you can and move on...

I have started marking all the parts on our landrover so i can id them if its stripped,a simple engraveing covered with waxoyl to hide it,make up your own codes for parts and list it with piccys,

i am hopeing this works if i have trouble again.

3 times in my life i have had attempted theft and break ins now, impretty sick of it but im getting better at where i leave the bloody thing...i find the best thing to do at the moment is have it hooked up to the mains so if anyone touches it they die a hideous 440 DC death ....

//.......i wish..........

absolutely gutted for you mate

have the police or insurance said anything towards recovering the parts found or towards a payout as im not sure how it would be handled

if it were me id be in there with a trailer collecting anything and evrything to go towards rebuilding her again using the parts off the other landys that are left there aswell

Sorry to hear the news about your landy mate these thieving little C**ts should have there hands chopped off

if you find out who it was i have a good saw you can use on them

Cheers all.
It was long way into the plantation - needed 4wd - :hurt

Had to park a van down the byway.
Police gave the okay to collect 'personal possesions' -
Roofrack, bonnet, roof and side panels. Workbench! Etc.
Tiz all that could be carried out.
As much as i wud like to have dragged out the td5 rear axle and mint bulkhead.....
Not too sure how the insurance wud take that.

Forestry commision land. So can hardly ask a mate to drive in for ANY reason.

Looking around up there, i reckon they used it as a stash and came back for the bits they wanted - that other 90 u see was just frnt wings and chassis. Everything else had been stripped.

Hopeful that with the info i have given the police the vehicle i have spotted forsale with ALL MY MISSING PARTS on it - they are the scum. Spotted a 90....recognised my wings.... doors...then looked at pic of interior.
WTF!
My mud console, instruments, steel mantec cubby etc!!!

Gotcha!

Will keep all posted

In my experience, if the police are happy for you to do so, the Forestry Commission are a friendly bunch and if you say you will clear the site for them then they will be obliging, but you would need the ok from plod.

UPDATE UPDATE!!!

:D

A 90 (not mine) was seized today - the one festooned with most of my stolen 90.
The occupier of the premises is currently 'helping with enquiries' - ie. No bloody windows! He is still able to walk - for the moment ;)

There would seem also to be numerous other parts involved.

I also believe another 90 on ebay in the same area is also dodgy. It finished today.... but was a rather too smart late 90 with an ill fitting exmod canvas..

Angry trousers now in the wash - time to sort things out now eh?

Thanks all for following this - it would seem just the tip of an iceberg however. Hopefully the thieving scum will get dealt with properly!

Cheers....and slightly happier!!
