Stolen 22nd Oct Defender 90 M159 RAW near Penny Lane

Would appreciate all eyes and ears out there for my 1995 Defender. The pedal clamp didn't work out this time sadly. Horrible to wake up to a space outside the house where my Land Rover usually sits.

Do hope you get it back total shame the pedal lock didint work kinda put me off buying one dont see the point of spending £80 upwards just to watch some theif'ing toe rag steal my toy anyway

Have a drive round local and think where you may have left it if you nicked it and wanted to leave it somewhere quiet to see if the police turn up due to a tracker being fitted. the locks make it more difficult to nick. Just delays it a bit.

Cheers, no sign of it -almost gone a week now. Yes the pedal look must of simply delayed them -obviously they know a way around them now. Swine.

Was it a clutch claw or one of the peddle boxes that go over all the peddles?

That's a shame pal. As it seems that a fair few have been stolen with peddle locks could you tell us what brand it was e.g X-eng ardcase etc. Might help someone else in the future

Really? I just ordered a pedal box type to replace my Clutch Claw, which it seems can be got around by cutting the pedals! Hope l have not wasted £100....

Maybe they towed it as l can't see an easy way past the steel pedal cover type ones without making a lot of noise for a fair bit of time.

Always seems odd to me that when people have their landy stolen they dont seem very keen to offer up information as to what make and type of security devices they had installed. Such information would come in extremely useful esp to people like me who are in the market for good security device. Also this information maybe be useful to the manufactures of security devices so they may be able to improve on their designs. Having said that I really hope this chaps landy turns up soon.

Devices which lock or cover the pedals are not impossible to get through. They make it more difficult. More time to nick makes it more likely they will be seen. A propper alarm with vibration and interior sensing is a must. A tracking device is a good idea anorl.

Likewise. Looking at the x-eng one but maybe not if they are now easily crackable

I've found no evidence that they are "easily crackable".
Sure any security can be bypassed, after all you could just tow the Land Rover away or winch it on to a flat bed.
But l'd like to see somebody get a pedal lock off without making a racket for ten minutes.

Interesting to know if it was winched onto a flatbed or not or did they manage to get the pedal lock off before driving it off. My alarm should go off if someone tries to jack it up not sure if it will activate if its dragged onto the back of a flatbed.

Long time coming but they caught a couple of idiots driving my 'former' Land rover and they're going to be in court before the end of the year...meantime had bought a replacement 300Tdi and loving it...with a lot more security this time!
