id fit a clear plastic pipe in between filter and injection pump front banjo ,any air bubbles first thing shows its a fuel side issue

Its got a pot of wynns injector cleaner in 40ltrs of fuel now. A cap full went in the filter. So hoping that helps now

Quick update. Bypassed sedimeter and all was well for few days.now the problen is still here now.after being left overnight it struggles again. Got a 1 way filter to fit. Just where does that go. Between filter and fuel pump or filter and injection pump
.

Or is there anything else i can try

I think you have a dripping injector overnight. Hense loads of smoke on startup. Hence low fuel pressure as it's draining pipes, hence runs on 3 till reved, also will cause low compression on that cylinder as will wash away oil on piston rings. Does engine oil look thin and smell of diesel

Oil looks good as its just bin changed. Old oil just looked black as dint think to check.

How do i no which injector it is or do i change all 4 injectors

you sure the starter is ok? is it turning over quick and strong?

if the grey smoke hanging around or does it go quickly?

you checked the leak off pipes?

if you crack the inj nuts when cold and crank, do you get a strong flow of derv? or does it get stronger after 20 secs?

It cranks over strong just doesnt fire straight away.

Changed leak off pipes over injectors.

The grey smoke only there for second whilst on 3 cylinders. Rev it 4th kicks in and no smoke then

Do i crack off all 4 injector nuts at once or 1 at a time over 4 days.

just do one. i'm trying to see if it's fuel leak back. if your fuel is draining back then it'll hardly put any out initially and then it'll get a good squirt coming out when it usually starts (20-30 secs you said?)

but if it's running on 3 for 5 mins until warmed up, then when the engine is running you could crack each nut one at a time and tighten it back up. if one of them doesn't make as much difference as the rest, then that injector is the iffy one.

It runs on 3 till revved. That will be sundays job then il crack 1 off and see if it leaks alot or little then let warm up and then crack others off

i'm not sure you quite got what i said.. but ok.. lets see what happens :D

Wat fo u mean trax.dumb it down for me mate.

i just meant. when cold crack one nut. have someone crank.

notice the amount of diesel coming out.. do you get stronger bursts after 20 secs (when it usually fires up).

that's it.

on a completely different test, when cold and running (firing on 3) crack one nut and see if it runs rougher. if not, tighten up and then do the next. but so only one if cracked at a time.

if one doesn't seem to change the engine, that's the iffy one. :)

Best way to check dripping injectors is to remove them but leave connected to all pipework over cardboard which I know is awkward and see what happens. This is 100% injector issue IMO because it starts on 3 not 4
