Went for a day out around rural New Zealand today, found a series 2 still working hard at the surf lifesaving center at Ocean beach, Hawkes bay. Anyone else know of any landrovers still doing and honest days work?

i was amazed to see a landy still being used like this, would of expected a Toy*** or something a little newer!. it looked tidy from a distance, get up close and the chassis firewall, well, you can imagine what the salt water would do!

like to think mine do , well its out every day towing / delivering etc for my building business, as well as my everyday transport ,

ours does an honest days work!! well part time day lol, down to the farm in the morning , gets hay bales thrown in back if needed, had a young calf in it the other week that needed moving too :) and we go back down the farm in it in the afternoon /evening to put the animals to bed. that was why we bought her, needed a workhorse that could take the battering that the farm track gives it and that we don't mind getting filthy dirty:D

now you couldnt do that in a toy***, wouldnt look "propper" as soon as it got muddy. 90TruckCab - i love the look of your neighbourhood!

;) cheers mate, tis quiet round ere, just out of town too, so no problems, they just have a stupid habit of parking across my drive so i cant get to work

fully restored ??? whats that ;)

.... i likes rusted heaps of **** that cost no less than ten grand to get on the road ! hahaha am adicted to them, nust be a lust for rust or somerthink ! fully restored motors dont really interest me , i like the work involved then the finished project yer more happy with when yer kno it inside out .

HA!, me too, cant beat a good crusty bit of rust, but this breakdown truck was better than mint, it was immaculate, http://www.landrovercentre.com/stock/image/series-1-recovery-0001.jpg

seen a few pics of that the last few years, got to admit i like it , tis exactly what a series should look like, no bull****, rough tough made for the job landrover , nothing can touch them really , thats when folk give a **** about motors, not a ****in discovery 3 or freelander, proper back to basics engineering , great power to weight ratio, i wont go back to cars now, no charictor . every days an adventure in a series, weather yer break down or it runs smoothly , still makes yer smile, no matter what the weather ;)

haha, not happened to me but the previous owner of mine has welded it back on , looks like it will go soon tho, first is getting ever closer to the dash when i change gear !
