I have a '97 Mk1 Disco ES. As of last Saturday, sunroofs both open and close fully from tilt position, but will not close from tilt position. Rear sunroof will not close from either the switch up front, or the one in the rear. Fault occurred simultaneously in both roofs. Any ideas would be helpful - I feel stupid, driving around with polythene over partly open sunroofs!.

Probably worth a check of the fuses first. Don't know about Disco's particularly but all cars that I have had with a sunroof have had some form of back up manual operating mechanism (normally under a removable plastic cover). Have a look through your user manual, at least you may be able to close them in the first instance and look at fixing them in slower time.

Fuse ok. No help in user manual. At least in my P38, they provide you with a key for the (inevitable) occasion that the electric sunroof fails. Will have a go at prising covers off switch surrounds to see what is underneath.
Thanks

try this.
Remove the little square cover plate in the overhead trim panel, that will show you an allen key that you can use to manualy open /wind the roof, open it then close it again manually, then try the switch, it may well work fine after that.Got this info off another erm place.:D
or this info.
you can manually open/close it.. just pop the 2X1" panel in front of the switches.

Yes you will see the motor drive and the hole in which to insert the Allen key, push it in fully to disengage the drive and that will enable u to close the glass.
The issue could be as simple as the lack of lubricant on the track or worse an iffy ecu or track sliders.
Even disco come with the LR sunroof Allen key to use if required so P38s are not alone :D
