You have a centre diff lock on a Disco 2?
On the Disco 1 you need to remove the console, drill out the rivets holding down the cover plate and gaiter, then you can remove the pin being careful not to lose the clip, undo 4 bolts (8mm heads on 6mm thread I think) then you can lift out the assembly, take it in the warm and soak in penetrating oil and tap it until it frees up, lube it up and rebuild it. really not a terrible job.

Of course it has CDL, why would it not?
I think mine is cable where yours is lever, but will have a look when it is warmer.
Just very stiff!
Because on Facelift D2's (like the one in your avatar) they rarely have CDL, let alone one with the correct linkage.

My 2004 sometimes is difficult but I think it's because of lack of use
