I need to paint the steering wheel on my late 2A, otherwise I will be getting black sticky hands every time I drive it, well at least if it's damp weather.
I've just junked the PVC rim jacket that I fitted about ten years ago, the poor thing was falling apart.
Now I need to seal in the bakelite with a really tough hard wearing black paint that will last a good while.
It's basically the same as a S3 item, and I know that some of the late S3's had moulded thermoplastic wheels, but I ain't got one of those, and they're probably not cheap now either.
So it's either buy some decent paint or hunt down another rim jacket, I'd rather re-paint if it's not going to cost the earth.
Paint suggestions please

It's bakelite, they are lacquered originally but it wears off. You can re lacquer.. i need to do mine but not sure of the details yet
I'm aware that there are people out there refurbishing the wire spoked type wheels from various series ones, twos, and 2A's.
No problem with cracks in my wheel, just needs painting, lacquer or whatever.
But my experience of cheap paint is that it's really soft, even when fully cured, I don't want to repaint after three months
