Hi all,
can anyone tell me how I should go about doing things to change my steering wheel on a P38 without messing things up.
thanks
Neil.

Disconnect the battery and wait about 20 mins before starting work on it, better to be safe than sorry with the airbag.

Once you have waited, remove the 4 screws holding the airbag in place, twist the wheel in either direction to get at all 4.

Gently remove the airbacg and carefully unplug it.

Unplug all reaming connections to the radio and cruise controls, remove the centre bolt holding the wheel on and then pull the wheel off making sure you dont damage any plugs or wires in the process.

Refitting is just like as you removed it but in reverse. Make sure everything is plugged in and connected though before re-connecting the battery.

Have a look through the RAVE manual if you need any more info. :)

Wills ,thanks for the advice. Will I not cause any problems by disconnecting my battery? Does this not have an effect on remote locking etc? and where can I find the RAVE manual you speak about.
Many thanks
Neil.

It shouldn't do. You will need to re-sync the key, reset all windows, sunroof (if fitted), enter radio code and reset all the stored radio stations.

Get RAVE (workshop manual) from here - RangeRovers.net • View topic - RAVE Download - comes with free beer!

Make sure you have the EKA code incase of an emergency but otherwise you should be fine. Remember to always disconnect the negative first and then the positive.
