I have a series III 1983 swb and have put in some new interior with the increase in the size of the drivers seat there is not enough clearance for my legs under the steering wheel i was wondering if any of you know if there is a smaller steering wheel from another car ie a mini that would fit and is of a smaller diameter then the one fitted

Cheers Dean

you can get a momo wheel to fit .you just need to get the correct hub fer yer veehickle..of course with it being a series yer steering will be even heavier

I have a small steering wheel on mine. Great upper body workout! To be honest, it's actually lighter than my Astra Van to steer!

Sorry Slob old bean, you are near enough right. I stand corrected, the Mountney is actually 13 3/4" (350mm) mean diameter.

I lie like a cheap nasty watch, my apologies !!!!!!!!!!!

Regards WP.

A wheel from the old Austin Rover range will fit, Metro, Ital etc (but not the later Rover Metro).
I ran an Ital 4-spoke wheel on my S111 and it was fine but I was using 9.00x16 bar-grips and while they were tall they were very hard which made steering very easy. Using Michelin XCL's was a different matter as they had very flexible side walls which gave a superior ride but resulted in very heavy steering.

Got a 14-inch Mountney wheel for sale if interested?

Thanks for all he replys not sure what im doing on this forum thing just yet so please dont think im being ignorant. I have gone for the easy onption of buying and boss and wheel from my local 4X4 centre its a bit tough on the arms but i need the work out.
