Have bought an old man emu steering Damper for my defender 90,having trouble getting the pivot end into the drop arm. It looks like it has been pinched together when old one fitted.old one comes out ok but new one won't fit. Not sure how much force I can use to widen it.

I know that it is a cast piece but it is possible to very carefully spread the mount a little while you slot it in. Although if it is the metal insert in the bush, if it is a poly bush, it may be worth carefully filling down the centre a little or even just replacing the bush.

Thanks for the advice, filed the insert down a little and also gently opened up the drop arm.
