thats OK then. Pity LR didnt know that. :D
they said the same about r380s we built for them then rejected those with play eventually the engineers agreed that they should have 0- to 2 thou preload rather than 0 to 2 thou free play on the taper bearings, also with the new axles we built for lr and these were lr engineers from lr inspecting the builds

Is that the only rotten bit of the chassis?
Yes

Up front :D:rolleyes:
I'm going to have a propper look at the rear of chassis and set a hammer and chisel to it as I think it may be too far gone on rear. I'm guessing it will be a 1/4 chassis job. Atleast there's propper drawings for fender chassis!

You gonna get a 1/4 chassis for it or get some 2.5mm laser cut and build it with new spring buckets and a rear cross member?

Quarter chassis on back I think. Means literally cut, slide, check, weld. My best bet I think. The parts list is growing - seat box is in a nasty way in places. Shame they didn't use galv washers or similar. Wherever there's been a steel bolt on alli the reaction has just eaten it. I kind of wish this truck was mine. For some reason it's way less daunting than disco. With the disco however I get the comfort and camper back!

Well the wheel bearings made sense when I installed. Did up tight, slackened 90 degree then pulled at the hub whilst spinning and hand tightening until play was gone. I don't think too tight but I can always adjust when I drive it if so.

Just painted and fitted out 2nd. Need to bolt up disc and fit.

Forum seems to be playing up at the moment. Double posts and struggling to upload. I'll save my pictures and do a decent upload once a bit further. Got myself some corroless too. Got to get these a frame brackets off on next day on it!

it doesnt double post - it just takes about 30 seconds to update your post. having posted once, just watch Lz-live and you will see it update.

Pics are a different matter :(.

I'm thinking the same, I have begged that someone puts another 50p in the meter in the server room, I blame the bestiality porn and online ordering of Dominoes.

you leave my beard alone, with your greasy, painty mits

Hands are full of metal shards and welding burns after today's ordeal, did slap some paint on the welds to stop it from going rusty until I next attack it.

Will upload piccies in my fred when forum is behaving normally(well as normal as it ever does LOLZ)
