Starts, turn off, no start....

Hey all, having an issue with my 99 Disco 2.5 Td5
It’s at my parents house so has sat for a week without running.
I started it this morning and whilst it took a few seconds it did run no problems.
Then the three amigos appeared....
Not a problem, I’ve had that happen before and I’ve found turning it off and then restarting sorts it and they disappear.

So after letting it run for a few minutes I did just that, except this time when I went to restart it, literally seconds later, nothing.
Turned the ignition, dash lights came on but it just clicks, not even a hint of the starter motor kicking in.
Tried multiple times to no avail, locked and unlocked the doors as I know the immobiliser can kick in and prevent it from starting.
I then left it for half an hour or so hoping it was maybe an ecu gremlin that would reset itself and still nothing.
If I leave the ignition in the on position with the key I can hear a small motor starting up and whirring, which I assume is the starter?

One other interesting thing I did note is that now when I lock it the hazard lights flash 3 times, previously it was just once.
Anybody got any ideas about this?
I’d google it but honestly don’t even know where to start!

The sooner I can sort this the better, as it’s up for sale and I need the cash!

Can't be much help I'm afraid, but my Disco Td5 winkers flash 3 times when locking the doors.

Charge the battery.... low voltage at the ECU (under 10.5v) will cause it not to start. Put it on charge overnight and try again.

Just recently had similar issues, 3 amigos, then 4 amigos, SRS, nanocom showed a fault with the ABS pump... after checking through no probs found except the Battery, replaced it, all faults and lights gone..... there so touchy with a duff battery, plays all sorts of havoc with the ECU !!!!

I changed the battery for a brand new one probably about 6-8 weeks ago after it died.
Turned out the old one was well past its life span.
Didn't have any problems with starting up until today
Very frustrating

+ 1 for recharging the battery.
I would still recharge the battery as Spot1 has suggested, a new battery won't cure a low charging fault.

I'd definitely get the charging circuit on the vehicle checked out.
A quick check with a voltmeter connected directly across the battery should show a voltage of about 14.5 volts with the engine running just above tickover.

Still no joy here.
I’ve been away for work so haven’t been able to look at it.

I tried again today and still the same issue.
Battery seems spot on, all electrics are working no bother but still just getting a single “click” sound when I try to fire it up.
Even tried jump starting it in case the starter wasn’t getting enough power but that didn’t make any difference.

Very frustrating as per my original post it was running and then the next second after I turned it off, it was just giving me a click when I went to start it again!

What is the little red led light on the ctr of the dash doing?
How loud is the click?
Have you given the spade connector for the solenoid a wiggle on the starte motor?
Have you looked at the starter solenoind, that are known to fail in the internal copper connections an easy fix for about £15. Lots of write ups on this issue.

Clean your connection terminals and ground straps. Clean all ends and where they make contact with the starter, and ground strap for starter and engine to chassis

Try the key with the bonnet open and someone listening for the click. If it makes a click every time you turn the key then it sounds as if the solenoid contacts are worn. Cheap and simple fix. Plenty of contact kits on online auction sites or at your local independent land rover shop.

Starts, turn off, no start....
