Start delay when motor turning over

Hi,

I have a disco 200 tdi,

this summer ive replaced the engine ( 250.000 )
it had a blown head gasket but i had a 120000 mile engine sitting arround.

So i preferd to get my second hand engine in, and while out ,
have new gaskets allround ,new distribution ,..

But what i now have with the replacement engine,
before my 200 tdi turned over from the first contact.
While now, it has to turn arround for 2-3 seconds before it goes on.

My bosh VE is the same as before, ive already replaced the the little fuel pump on the engine camshaft, and cleaned the sendiment filter.

Also when started recently, its starts immidiatly,
so it has to do with fuel running back to the tank or something i think.

Anyone has got an idea where to look further ?

I had this with mine it was the leak off pipes where perished allowing fuel to drain back. New leak off pipe now it starts instantly.

Do you mean the return lines on the injectors ?
