I always got good results with 'back to black' even on grey plastic. I did get some stuff , might have been the same manufacturer which was meant for grey plastic and it was rubbish.
Back to black' just darkened the grey a bit so you'll have to do all the other stuff as well.
This was a few yrs back though and I don't know if it's even made any more.

but has to be done on a cold shady day ,

So it's a bit like when I use Roundup for weeds, they almost thrive on the stuff and grow right back; I got the pressure washer on the bumpers expecting the staining to go, it dried off straight away and the staining came right back.
I've not tried the heat gun yet, but probably need to apply either linseed oil or Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber care I suspect.
Annoyingly, I need to treat the bumpers again(!) - quite a lot has run I. The recent storms.
It may be that this stuff requires multiple applications before it become a more durable finish?

I think I'll maybe try the car plan stuff..................................................
.....................................especially as I have a hard top but I begrudge spending £7 on tarting up a bumper even though it does mar the looks a lot. I saw a old FL with nice black bumpers and it makes a real difference.
made the mistake first time of not allowing the hard top to cool down after being in the sun
don't know how effective the heat gun would be on it , always worried of doing damage so that's why I bought this paint
I used a roller for the hard top, removed the hard top and got my son to put it in the back garden , a lot easier than messing around with steps , lol
We had fun and games getting the top off but even more getting it back on. Problem was after about 15 mins jiggling the top our arms got tired. I found out the right way to do it later on but was not going to try it - it is those spring clips..................annoying. I'll stick to just the sides of it or get the steps out.
Did you use a brush on the bumpers and does it show smear marks? I have used back to black in the past and it shows smear marks.

used a brush for the places I couldn't get into but then used a cloth , please get some gloves or u will end up looking like a very bad suntan, lol
if u make sure it's not in the sun and allow the trim to cool down properly it's ok , found that out the hard way
used a karcher in between the joints , amazing how the paint will find dirt then drag it across the freshly painted trim
also used a cloth for the wheel arches
there's some other stuff I've been trying to find , paint was very thin and easier to build up the layers but can't find it online anymore , was in a 5 litre white tin , yeh I know that narrows it down , lol
want to also get the chrome letters for the back bumper, as I used a silver pen to highlight the freelander bit but comes off after a while , seen the cut out metal letters that I'm just going to stick on and should look a lot better
Talking of rubber/nitrile gloves, there are so many grades like medical or tattooist or surgical it is hard to chose a type that's any good especially in extra large so recently I splashed out £8 on some "proper" nitrile ones as the poundland ones rip as I pull them on.

Shoe polish seems to crop up a lot.
I usually de-badge my motors. I do not like badges and the freelander one on the back door flaps almost to the point of falling off under the pressure washer. I want to whip it off ASAP.

I bought some gloves from asda and Wilkos , agree they didn't last very long , lol
this was the stuff, got a dye instead of a polish , that' just comes off after a while

Yes I had that on my short list. So that's crossed off now.
Might as well use shoe polish then.If I can be bothered I'll call in to Halfords and maybe get the black bumper paint.
I didn't get the Halfords spray but I do think it might be the right one. I would need two or three spray cans at a guess to cover all the plastic so I decided to use shoe polish at 77p a tin but I think it has not done well. I had some back to black and have used that which is fairly good but I know it won't last.
I'll save up and get the Halfords spray later.
