Squeaky Steering!

The steering on my Disco 1 has started to squeak when moved from lock to lock. Before I started splitting ball joints etc does anyone have any ideas!

any idea where the noise might be coming from, could be the uj's in the steering shaft. does the steering feel different in any way, stiff/play.

Took it to my local landy specialists (Chichester 4x4). Turns out that the track rod was rotated back slightly causing the squeak. All it needed was turning back and problem solved. I can also highly recommend their tea!

Easy fix then, that makes a change. never heard of that one before.
im a coffee man myself.
