our springer pup is now nearly 17 weeks old

we have no intentions of breeding her so wish to get her speyed or however you pronounce it

but we are getting different advice.. at what age should we be getting it done?
some say 6 months
some say to lt her have one season and then do it

we spayed our dawwwg after she had one "season" just don't let any boy dawgs give her one before you get it done, them boy dawgs is b******* for tryin to get they're leg over a bitch in season!

I've definitely read somewhere that is advisable to let them have at least one season tor several reasons.<br />
Unfortunately I can't remember for the life of me what those reasons are:confused::confused:
I always give my girls one season before spaying, and i never had any real health issues with any of them.

We were recommended by our vets to wait until after the first season before having it done, although rescue centres like the RSPCA seem to do them at any age before the bitches are rehomed without any problems so I dont think it matters too much really.

Stopping the number of stray dogs probably outweighs the small risks.
