Guys just a quick one
Gotta pick the range rover up but the main key is locked inside my mates workshop. I have the spare key but my missus has just informed me that the fob doesn't work,
So will putting the key into the drivers door lock, unlock it and dis arm the alarm
Many thanks

With a non-working fob (i.e. remote central locking function) you can unlock the car using the door lock (as long as the internal rod hasn't snapped or come adrift !!) this may set the alarm off, as soon as you put the key in the ignition and the passive coil picks up that it is the right key and is authorised, the alarm will stop and you should be golden.

OK thanks for the help, that's good to know , I have read that the key charges in the ignition and that the battery can't be replaced is this correct?

Incorrect, the battery can indeed be replaced....just don't lose the little piece of lose plastic in the key.....this is the immobiliser chip.....the most important part!
Ah ok, thats interesting, I will have a look at how to replace it

Many thanks neil
