Hi Guys and Gals,

After looking through the LandRanger map for Byways in the Carmarthemshire Area, I would have thought there would be hundreds of lanes. All I have seem to be able to find so far are the ones highlighted as "Other roads/drives/tracks". I was wondering if anyone knows of any of these roads are legal to drive on, as I can not believe that they all are, even though I do wish that like everyone else.

Any feedback would be great

Nigel

Hi Nigel,
Pick up the Explorer OS map for your region and look for the symbol -+-+-+
it usually means a BOAT(byway open to all traffic)although you will have to consult your local authorities Definitive map which is held by the Rights of Way officer,it's free to do so and you will get up to the minute info as to closures etc.
Good luck,i'm doing exactely the same thing at the moment!!
Let us know how you get on.
Ade.

i believe you can also go down ORRPs (other routes with public access) if they are on tracks. They are shown as red dots (1:50) or green dots (1:25)

make sure you look at they key so you dont confuse them with traffic free cycle routes
